Committees



The Public Accounts Committee derives its powers under Standing Order 63 of the Standing Orders of the Regional Assembly.

The role of the Public Accounts Committee, as laid down in Standing Order 63 (2), is as follows:

" The Committee shall examine the audited accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by the Assembly to meet the public expenditure and other accounts laid before the assembly together with the Director of Audit's report thereon."

The Standing Orders Committee derives its powers under Standing Order 64 of the Regional Assembly.

The role of the House Committee, as laid down in Standing Order 64(2) is as follows:

" The Committee shall consider from time to time and report on all matters relating to Standing Orders which may be referred to them by the Assembly."

The House Committee derives its powers under Standing Order 65 of the Regional Assembly.

The role of the House Committee, as laid down in Standing Order 65 is as follows:

" There shall be a Committee to be known as the House Committee, to consist of the Deputy Chairperson as chairperson and four members to be elected by the Assembly to consider and advise the Chairperson on all matters connected with the comfort and convenience of Members of the Assembly. The minutes of the meetings of this Committee shall be circulated to all members of the Assembly."
